There aren't many opportunities for African American writers to have an unfiltered voice. The SistaGurl Blog believes that in order to reclassify urban perceptions, all must be d highlighted and enhanced. Our goal as AA journalists is to recreate the mainstream narrative of our successes. They should be highlighted with the same clarity and diction as our failures. We take no time to sugar coat, we just speak in love.
